Every Women Every Year- Class Fundraising!

Dear Spelman Sisters,

The time to celebrate our Rookie Reunion year is quickly approaching. Spelman College Reunion 2009 will be held May 14-17, 2009. The Office of Alumnae Affairs has planned some exciting events for Reunion, and the Spelman College Class of 2004 Planning Committee is in the process of planning events specifically for our class.

We are asking each class member to give a financial gift Spelman. No amount is too small; however, we ask that you give the largest gift possible. Please make your donation to Spelman by visiting the Spelman College website at www.spelman.edu/reunion/giving.shtml. Giving back to the college that gave us so much is extremely important, and it should be something that each member of the Class of 2004 does both during this reunion year and in the years to come. However, it is important to note that all of the funds do not have to come from the alumna alone. Each alumna can raise funds on behalf of the College. In an effort to assist class members with raising money for Spelman, the Planning Committee has created the Ask Five for Five Campaign. The campaign asks each alumna first to make her own donation to Spelman. Next, the alumna should ask five family members, five friends, five church members, five co-workers, and five social club members to give $5.00 to Spelman College. While we encourage everyone to participate in the Ask Five for Five Campaign, should you choose not to participate, please make a donation of any amount.

The Planning Committee has the dual responsibilities of both raising funds for the College and raising funds needed to plan class-specific events. Consequently, we are also asking each class member to donate $10.00 to the Class Operating Fund. These funds will allow us to plan events solely for our class members and their invitees. Donations to this fund can be made online by visiting the Class of 2004 website at http://spelman2004.blogspot.com. Any additional monies remaining in the Class Operating Fund after all class activities have been paid for will be donated to Spelman.

Reunion Registration information is available on the Spelman College website. Registration is handled solely by the Office of Alumnae Affairs. Neither your financial donation to Spelman nor any assistance given to the Operating Fund will be credited to Reunion registration fees.
